Latest Paris Fashion Week Review Three Color Trends in 2023

Paris Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2023 ended on October 7 and the journalists, buyers, and other influencers who attended in-person fashion shows in the French capital were treated to some unforgettable moments. For example, Bella Hadid in Coperni’s futuristic spray-on dress, Kanye West’s appearance at Balenciaga, the choreographed tribute dance of Issey Miyake, and the appearance of Cher at Balmain.

The week was filled with memorable occasions. In terms of color, many collections were surrounded by the black. But three color combinations stood out. The trend of Barbiecore perhaps inspired them. Hot pink was a popular choice. The fashion-forward dressing has elevated rust-colored tones, and many high-end designers who have an affinity for dull colors have now discovered a preference for an icy, pastel palette of colors.

Rust

Mame Kurogouci employed the traditional Japanese method of basket weaving in her collection. Look 12 included an intricately knit vest over a rust-colored silk dress.

Anthony Vaccarello of Saint Laurent presented a classy collection. Look 17 consisted of a floor-length, broad-shouldered coat paired with an emerald colored bodysuit and a broad leather belt. To celebrate the 100th birthday of Akris, Albert Kriemler put on an event at the Palais de Tokyo. In his look 5, he wore the complete look with tones of rust. This included the suede bomber jacket, high-waisted leather pants, and a tee shirt. Accessories had a bag and high-heeled sandals.

As a nod to earlier arrivals in this spring season Rok Hwang, the designer of Rokh showed off a striking faux fur coat composed of rusty-toned panels matched to grey.

Hot Pink

Undercover Jun Takahashi showed many styles with hot pink. The top was croppe underneath a knit cardigan, paired with silk wrap skirts with two tones of hot pink.

At Rick Owens, look 6 included the super hot stretch-mesh dress with an asymmetrical train underneath a cropped top with shoulder straps resembling wings. Also, at Chloe for look 31, Gabriela Shears presented the hot pink one-button dress and pants with an asymmetrical black cropped top.

At Dawei Look 8 was comprise of two hot pink pieces make of transparent chiffon.

Icy Poles

The creative director for Shang Yang Li showed a range of looks that were an assortment of light shades. The look included a split skirt with a lemon color and a lilac top with green and pale blue belts that resembled obi.

The following quote is from Thom Browne “An American prom mix with Cinderella and The Paris Opera.” Among many styles that incorporate light colors: a multi-layered style in pink blue, lilac and green. The look was complete with a wide-brimme picture hat.

Georg Lux’s first runway show to Leonard included an off-the-shoulder ‘peasant dress that was a mix of green and pale blue with peach and yellow tones. At Chanel the show, a tweed dress with a pale yellow lining. So over the lilac-color and pale blue cardigan were show.
